Experience the thrill and adventure as you soar above the forest canopy surrounded by abundant nature and wildlife.

If you consider yourself an adventurer looking for a wonderful memory, this boat journey into the heart of Gatun Lake—the second largest artificial lake in the world—will be one of your favorites. On a route that combines history and ecology, you will sail through the Panama Canal toward hidden islands where, if conditions are favorable, you may see families of capuchin monkeys, howler monkeys, and white-faced monkeys.

Access to the Gatun Lake expedition and Monkey Island

The time listed on the website includes a 15-minute advance arrival period to allow for any delays or inconveniences that may occur upon arriving at our office.

The tour begins 30 minutes after the time indicated on the website; however, guests are informed that they must arrive 15 minutes early to complete registration for the activity.

Example: If the activity begins at 09:00 a.m. in the park, guests must arrive at 08:45 a.m., as registration prior to the activity must be completed. Important: this example applies to all schedules.

Before starting, the guide will provide a briefing on safety rules and behavior guidelines that must be followed in order to fully enjoy the experience.

Afterward, you will be taken to a “Launch Platform,” from where you will begin a controlled flight to the next station.

All you need to do is relax and enjoy the ride while observing the fascinating life within the forest canopy.

Expedition Schedule:

9:15 a.m. | 11:00 a.m. | 1:15 p.m. | 2:45 p.m.

We recommend wearing long pants, a t-shirt, sneakers, boots, or any type of closed-toe footwear.

Photo and video cameras may be used (at your own risk) during stops on the platforms or with the assistance of our guides. Sunscreen and insect repellent are recommended (optional, according to your preference).

Children between 5 and 14 years old must be accompanied by their parents or a responsible guardian during the tour. Adolescents aged 15 and older may participate alone, provided that the parent or responsible guardian signs the waiver, attends the safety briefing, and remains inside the park.

Children between 5 and 10 years old will zipline accompanied at all times by one of our instructors (guides) throughout the entire tour. Children aged 10 and older are evaluated beforehand based on their height and weight to determine whether they will participate accompanied or alone.

The equipment you will use and the steel cables are designed to support many times the weight of a person, regardless of size: 2,000 lbs (909 kg) for the harness and 10,000 lbs (4,500 kg) for the cable. However, there are participant weight restrictions: 170 lbs (77 kg) for women and 250 lbs (114 kg) for men.

For safety reasons, pets of any kind are not allowed on this activity. Thank you for your understanding.

People who have recently undergone surgery or medical procedures

People with heart conditions
People with phobias or fear of heights
People with emotional or psychological disorders
