Panama is a country that, despite its cultural diversity, has successfully preserved its indigenous culture, allowing visitors to learn about and understand their way of life. One of the most significant ethnic groups is the Emberá Wounaan. Primarily settled in the Darién province, some families from this ethnic group moved to the upper Chagres River basin in the 1960s and 70s, establishing villages such as Tusípono Emberá, Parará Purú, and Emberá Drúa.
You can find them along the banks of the Chagres River, where they use long canoes and wear traditional loincloths made of fabric called guayucos, offering a window into Panama##MG=C_S##s impressive indigenous culture.
